August Cancer Awareness Month: Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Blood Cancers
Posted by VAEL DESIGNS

August is Blood Cancer Awareness Month — a month dedicated to leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other cancers of the blood and bone marrow. Blood cancers are among the most common cancers in the United States, yet they don't always receive the same public awareness as some other types. This month changes that.
Leukemia Awareness
Leukemia is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects the body's ability to produce healthy blood cells. It can be acute (fast-moving) or chronic (slower-developing), and it strikes people of all ages — from young children to older adults. In fact, leukemia is the most common cancer in children under 15.
The awareness ribbon for leukemia is orange. It's a vibrant color that represents the energy and courage it takes to face this diagnosis at any age. Our orange crystal leukemia bracelet is crafted in sterling silver and can be personalized with a name or date. Whether it's for a child fighter, an adult survivor, or a caregiver who never stopped showing up — it carries real meaning.
Lymphoma Awareness
Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system — the network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins and waste. There are two main types: Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Together they are among the most common cancers in the US, affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is represented by the lime green ribbon. Our lime green crystal lymphoma bracelet is a striking piece in sterling silver — bold enough to start a conversation, meaningful enough to keep forever. We also carry it in red for those who prefer that variation.
Hodgkin's lymphoma, while less common, most often affects young adults in their 20s and 30s and is represented by the violet ribbon. Our violet crystal Hodgkin's bracelet is crafted in sterling silver for the young fighters who deserve to be seen.
Blood Cancer by the Numbers
Every 3 minutes, someone in the US is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Every 9 minutes, someone dies from one. These numbers are why August matters. They're why wearing a ribbon matters. They're why every conversation — started by a bracelet, a post, or a simple question — adds up.
Show Your Support This August
Whether you're supporting a leukemia fighter, a lymphoma survivor, or honoring someone you've lost to a blood cancer, wearing their color is one of the most visible ways to say I remember. I'm still here.
