February Cancer Awareness - Gallbladder and Bile Duct Cancer Awareness

Gallbladder and Bile Duct Cancer Awareness in February

February is Gallbladder and Bile Duct Cancer Awareness Month, represented by the Kelly green ribbon. These cancers are often called silent diseases because they may not present early symptoms, making awareness one of our strongest tools.

The gallbladder stores bile produced by the liver, while the bile ducts carry bile to the small intestine. Cancer can develop in these areas, leading to gallbladder cancer or cholangiocarcinoma. Risk factors include a history of gallstones, obesity, and certain chronic infections.

February is also National Cancer Prevention Month. Lifestyle choices including maintaining a healthy weight, eating a balanced diet, staying active, and avoiding known carcinogens can reduce cancer risk across many types.

Our cancer awareness jewelry collection includes bracelets for over 36 cancer types, all handcrafted in sterling silver with genuine crystal beads. Every purchase donates $5 to the American Cancer Society.

How you can help: educate yourself and others about these cancers, participate in local events, and advocate for research funding. Donate to the American Cancer Society →
