Icy sky blue with the kind of clarity that makes light bounce straight through it. This 1.85 carat natural blue topaz is emerald cut, measuring 8x6mm, with clean step-cut facets that show off the stone's transparency and color in equal measure.

Under magnification two things stand out: a natural divot on the table where another crystal once grew alongside this one, and a tiny blue crystal inclusion floating in the body of the stone. The divot is visible face-up and worth noting for setting purposes, though a well-placed prong can address it. The included crystal is the kind of natural feature that reminds you these came out of the ground, not a factory. Both are part of the stone's story.
